Welcome! My name is Jacob Pike, a follower of Jesus Christ. I’m currently employed as a software engineer and do game development as a hobby.
This blog will largely cover the topics mentioned above, but it may include writings on other topics. Anyway, a brief snippet on some of those topics is below:
God created us and loves us. He came to us in the flesh (John 1:14) so that we may have life to the full (John 10:10) and for eternity (John 3:16). Through Jesus Christ we have forgiveness of sins and the power of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2:38). This is a wonderful gift from the Almighty God (Ephesians 2:8-9), and nothing is able to separate us from his love (Romans 8:38-39).
If you do not know God through the Lord Jesus Christ, I encourage you to contact me. I’m open to whatever you’d like to discuss. It is for your benefit, not mine, so that you may experience the life intended by your Creator.
When it comes to programming, my passion lies in writing high quality code, following principles in books like Code Complete. Design should conquer complexity. Code should be clear and simple to read and understand – no one should have to waste time trying to figure it out. In other words, the code should be beautiful. If, as you read any code of mine, you find ways to improve the code, feel free to let me know. We all have limitations and room to grow (myself included), so you are more than welcome to be part of the “team” ensuring high-quality software.
Thanks, and God bless.
